Laser Thread Vein Removal in Norwich
Thread Veins are small groups of blue or red veins which appear on the face and legs. Though harmless, they can cause low confidence and become more visible as people age. Sun damage, medical conditions such as rosacea and smoking, can contribute to an increased number of thread veins, most commonly around the nose and cheeks. At Norwich Face and Body Clinic, we have the exclusive Q10 laser, a High-power Nd: YAG laser with four wavelengths which effectively treats an array of skin conditions and concerns.
How it works:
Our Q10 Laser Vein Removal works by targeting the veins at the surface of the skin with short pulses of laser light which causes the blood vessel walls to collapse, in a process called photothermolysis. The body’s natural waste removal systems will then clear away the broken-down vascular tissue leaving a clear and blemish-free complexion. Laser thread vein on the face removal treatments are very effective on the face and body and permanently remove unsightly broken red veins.
We offer telephone or face to face consultations; enabling you to come along and meet the team to discuss any queries you may have and, to ensure the most suitable treatment is prescribed.
All machines and equipment within our Norwich Clinic are Medical grade, CE and FDA approved.
To ensure maximum comfort, we use the Cryo-Zet air cooler. This state of art system produces cool air to as low as -35 degrees, this increases comfort, accelerates recovery and reduces side effects.
The laser treatment for facial veins is carried out by or safe, medical grace, CE and FDA approved Q10 laser machine. This machine uses a specific wavelength to target the small vessels without causing damage to the skin or surrounding tissue. Our experienced laser practitioners work to medically regulated treatment protocols to ensure a safe and effective treatment.
Due to the energy and wavelength required, we are only able to treat skin types 1-3 for thread veins. Most red veins are suitable for laser treatment; however, blue, and varicose veins cannot be managed with laser. Patients with photosensitizing medication or conditions would not be suitable for treatment. At the consultation, our expert laser practitioners will carefully assess suitability for treatment.
Many people see immediate results from treatment with the vein discolouring and disappearing. We recommend three treatments to ensure that treated veins do not re-occur.
Results are permanent. However, people with thread veins are often predisposed to the condition and may require further treatment in different areas in the future.
Thread veins are medically known as telangiectasia and occur when capillaries (small blood vessels) break, thus becoming permanently dilated. There are numerous causes for this symptom. Commonly, the ageing process plays a large hand in the development of thread veins. This is due to there being less collagen in your skin as the ageing process continues, meaning thread veins become more visible.
Hormonal imbalances can also lead to the development of thread veins. Women going through the menopause, having an adverse reaction to the Contraceptive Pill, or suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) are all more likely to develop the condition. Pregnancy is also a significant cause of thread veins, due to the combination of fluctuating hormone levels and an increased amount of blood in the body.
Other common causes include environmental factors such as overexposure to the sun or particularly cold weather. This is while being obese can lead to unusually high blood pressure, and therefore to the blood vessels rupturing more easily. Smoking and too much alcohol consumption can also lead to thread veins, as both activities lead to having unusually high blood pressure.
Pre and post care will be discussed at the consultation and reiterated each visit.
